We’re here to serve our veterans, their families, and our community—not just during meetings or special events, but throughout the week. Whether you need tech support, guidance on VA paperwork, a notary, or simply a listening ear, Post 9 is open to assist. Call (912) 574-7037 or email commander@post9.vet to confirm a good time to stop by.

Veterans Supporting Veterans

At Brunswick Post 9, some of the most important support we offer is simple—conversation, camaraderie, and connection. Whether it’s swapping stories, lending an ear, or just sitting together in silence, we believe in being there for each other. No appointments. No pressure. Just veterans and friends, sharing time and understanding.

VA Benefits & Services

Veteran Support Guidance

Need help understanding VA forms or benefit applications? While we may not be able to fill them out for you, we can help make sense of the paperwork and point you in the right direction. We’ll do our best to guide you or connect you with the right contacts and certified Veteran Service Officers (VSOs).

Tech Help

Navigating sites like MyLegion.org and VA.gov can be tricky—we’re here to help. If you need assistance setting up an account, renewing membership, applying for VA benefits, or just figuring out where to click, we offer one-on-one tech support for fellow veterans. Stop by during open hours or bring your device to any meeting—we’ll walk through it together.

Membership Assistance

  • New member applications
  • Renewals and dues questions
  • Transfers from another Post
  • Reinstating lapsed membership
  • Understanding eligibility requirements

No appointment needed—just bring your DD-214 or service documentation if available.

Notary Services for Veterans

Post 9 offers notary services for veterans at no cost. Please call ahead to ensure a notary is available when you arrive.

Local Support Organizations

Need support beyond what we offer at the Post? We can help connect you to trusted local and regional resources for veterans and their families—whether you’re looking for a certified VSO, housing assistance, food programs, job training, or VA medical contacts. We don’t have all the answers, but we know who to call. Stop by and let us help you take the next step.

Mental Health Support

If you or a veteran you know is in crisis, contact the Veterans Crisis Line: dial 988, then press 1, or text 838255. Support is free, confidential, and available 24/7. More at VeteransCrisisLine.net.

And sometimes it helps just to talk to someone who gets it. Our doors are open for conversation and camaraderie.

Flag Retirement

Have a worn or damaged U.S. flag? Brunswick Post 9 offers proper and honorable flag retirement in accordance with American Legion standards. Drop it off anytime—our Flag Retirement Box is available 24/7 just outside the Post building.
